More pensioners are taking trips abroad, according to Age Concern.

Age Concern reported that sales of their Enterprises Annual Worldwide travel insurance product increased by 41 per cent last year.

This report reveals that not only are pensioners planning to take holidays in faraway places, they are planning to do so more than once a year.

More people are keeping active in their old age as indicated by requests for winter sports cover increasing by 20 per cent.
Age Concern has insurance that is specifically tailored for the people over 65, with no upper age limits on who can take out the policy.

Joe Young from Age Concern Insurance Services said: “As the population ages, we predict a travel boom which will see even more mature people exploring far flung destinations.”

Consumer power among the older generation has seen a resurgence recently, with Age Concern estimating that the ‘grey pound’ is worth up to £100 billion annually.
