Male drivers without insurance
According to recent research, Dumfriesshire is the UK capital for male drivers with a conviction for being on the roads when uninsured.
Males in their early twenties living in the town of Sanquhar have the highest number of convictions for driving without adequate insurance in Britain, with 28 per cent having IN10 convictions on their licence, moneysupermarket.com has found.
The statistics come after analysis of three million searches for quotes through the price comparison site, which also found that the highest proportion for female drivers with a conviction live in Dunstable, Bedfordshire.
Steve Sweeney, head of car insurance at moneysupermarket.com, highlighted the importance of insurance, stating: “By being covered to drive a car, you are not only protecting yourself in the event of an accident, theft or damage, but you are safeguarded against other less cautious motorists as well.”
